Mojo Alcantara (Messina Province) is 83 km from Messina, alt. 583 m, on the left bank of the lower stretch of the River Alcantara, south of Monte Mojo (703 m), the most off-center of Etna's craters, area 8.4 sq km, pop. 893, post-code 98030, tel 0942. Economy: traditional agriculture, stock-farminhg, small foostuff industry.

Founded in the first half of the 16th century by the Barons Lanza, who for many years were its overlords.

The 18th century Parish Chruch contains a wooden Crucifix by Fra'Umile da Petralia.

Also worth visiting is the Torre di Lanza, the only remaining part, apart from the portal, of the Lancia baronial palace (late 16th century)
