Casteltermini (Agrigento Province) is 39 km. from Agrigento, alt. 554 m., on the Monti Sicani near Pizzo Santa Croce, area 99.5 sq. km. Its population is just over 10,100, post-code 92025, tel. 0922. Economy: agriculture (cereals, vegetables, olive oil, grapes); rock salt mining.

It probably began as the Arab hamlet of Chiudia. The present town was founded in 1629 by G. Vincenzo Maria Termini.

On the fourth Sunday in May, the Taratata includes costumes, cavalcades, and battles reinacting those between the Normans and Arabs.
