Camastra (Agrigento Province) is 40 km. from Agrigento, alt. 340 m., on the hills between the Rivers Platani and Salso, area 16.3 sq. km., pop. over 2900, post-code 92020, tel. 0922. Agricultural economy: cereals, citrus fruit, almonds, olives.

Founded in 1620 by Giacomo Lucchesi, with the name of Ramulia, it later became a fief of the Lanza family. Between 1924 and 1946 it was part of the comune of Naro.

On the Castellazzo di Camastra, northeast of the town, traces have been found of Paleolithic settlements of the Greek age.
