Bompietro (Palermo Province) is 121 km. from Palermo, alt. 685 m., in the southeastern Madonie, are 42.4 sq. km., pop. over 2,000, post-code 90020, tel. 0921. Economy: agricultural produce, animal farming.

It was originally (17th century) a hamlet in the territory of Petralia Sottana; it became an autonomous comune in 1852. Until 1929 its name was Buompietro.

Churches (Cefalu Diocese) include the following:
SS. Apostoli Pietro e Paolo (Chiesa Madre, 1792)
S. Famiglia (Locati - suburb of Bompietro)
