This list of Prisoner of War Camps, Italian Service Unit Camps, and Prisoner of War Hospitals is still being developed with new locations added as we work through the weekly reports.
The POW Camps in Indiana during World War II included:
Austin, IN (branch camp under Camp Atterbury, IN)
Camp Atterbury, Edinburgh, IN 46124 (base camp, POWs originally buried here were transferred to Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL)
Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indianapolis, IN
Indiana Ordinance Works, Charleston, IN
Windfall, IN (branch camp under Camp Atterbury, IN)
POWs were buried at Camp Atterbury (later transferred to Camp Butler, IL).
