Portopalo di Capo Passero (Siracusa Province) is 57 km from Siracusa, alt. 20 m, on the southeast tip of Sicily, opposite the Isle of Capo Passero, area 14.9 sq km, pop. 4,264, post-code 96010, tel. 0931. Economy: fishing, tourism.

Founded quite recently, in the early 19th century, it became an independent commune in 1975, having been a ward of Pachino.

It is a fishing village and also a popular summer holiday resort, from which it is easy to reach Modica, Ragusa, Noto and Siracusa.
